Our History

Handi-Can has been in the portable washroom business and served Edmonton and area for over 20 years.  In 2003 Jeff Huston from Stony Plain, Alberta purchased the Handi-Can assets from the Mako Family. Jeff decided to keep the catchy name and incorporated Handi-Can (2003) Ltd May 1, 2003.  

To truly understand the portable restroom business, how it works, and learn what Handi-Can’s customers’ needs and requirements are, you have to work hands-on in the business. Jeff dedicated five years to working directly in service trucks cleaning, delivering, fixing and doing what it takes to get the job done and keep the customers happy.

Handi-Can is a service-based business committed to its customers. We do what we say and say we do, which is to provide consistent, clean, fresh, portable toilets on work sites and special events. Handi-Can has chosen to be a leader in the portable restroom business and that is why we only have one line of business. Handi-Can specializes in doing what we do best: providing clean, fresh, sanitary restroom facilities to temporary sites.

Handi-Can’s primary goal and purpose is customer service. Our team goes above and beyond to make sure our toilets are cleaned, sanitized and maintained on all worksites and special events. Handi-Can is a professional company and our new facility in Spruce Grove is just an example of how we operate. Our building and yard is clean, organized, and stocked for any size job, both big and small. We welcome all customers and potential clients to visit us, have a coffee and discuss their needs and look at our products first hand to help them make a decision. Everyone at Handi-Can is fun, friendly and easy going and we enjoy doing business with people just like us.
